FingerStyle documentary Acoustic Uprising, announces teaser trailer and World Tour
Tuesday 20th June 2017 – A teaser trailer has been released to celebrate the announcement of the “Acoustic Uprising” documentary. A film exploring the innovative world of Acoustic FingerStyle guitar featuring interviews with many leading players including Andy McKee, Kaki King, Newton Faulkner and Tommy Emmanuel. The Acoustic Uprising looks at the rich history of FingerStyle and the fusion of musical ideas the style has become known for. The project was funded in 2015 on kickstarter.com and has been a 2 year journey for Melbourne based Roller Coaster Productions.

“I’ll never forget the first time I heard and more importantly saw a FingerStyle performance -the ceiling instantly become the floor and I became obsessed. I wanted to learn more and when I couldn’t find a way to delve deeper, I decided to create the film.”
The world premiere of Acoustic uprising will be held at the Troubadour in London – the prestigious venue has played host to major artists like Jimmy Page, Bob Dylan and Jimmy Hendrix. It is steeped in music heritage and will make for an intimate setting for the film’s global debut.
Acoustic Uprising will be going on a world tour throughout July and September, including the London Guitar Night July 2nd, the Canadian Guitar Festival on July 29th and inaugural Sydney Guitar Festival on Sunday the 27th of August.
